Brunello Di Montalcino DOCG 'Poggio al Granchio' Val di Suga 2018

Val di Suga’s history dates back to 1969, when the company began transforming farmland north of Montalcino into vineyards. By 1982, they had released their first vintage. Today, Val di Suga is renowned for its single-vineyard Brunello wines, with Poggio al Granchio being one of their most notable vineyards, purchased in 1999. Located on the southern slopes of Montalcino, Poggio al Granchio benefits from rocky Galestro soil and a significant temperature variation due to its altitude and proximity to Mount Amiata. These conditions favour the Sangiovese grape, producing wines with elegance, minerality and a touch of smokiness.This 2018 vintage offers ripe fruit, balsamic, spice and earthy notes. Pair with steak or slow-cooked meats to complement its rich, savoury character. The wine will continue to develop for up to 10 years.
