Covered spill pallets for storing oil fuel and chemical containers in compliance with the latest DEFRA regulations. These covered containment pallets are ideal for storing fuel oil and other chemicals outside meeting the latest DEFRA regulations. Most spillages occur when transferring liquids from one source to another for example when refuelling industrial machinery each of our containment pallets has a removable grid which keeps the drums and housing separate from these potentially flammable liquids and from any spillages the grids are designed with small circular holes which with the assistance of gravity allow spillages to drain through to the base of these pallets. Each of the above containment pallets have different sizes and capacities our range is designed to allow customers to pick the ideal spill containment unit that fulfills their requirements. Uncovered spill pallets may fill with rainwater and in the event of a container leak oil and chemicals could escape. These covered spill pallets protect the sump from rainwater and are highly visible for enhanced safety. Covers are supplied flat packed for customer assembly. For safety when filling oil drums a Justrite safety funnel is a great choice as it includes an in-built flame arrestor. The Control of Pollution (Oil Storage) (England) Regulations 2001 3. Requirements for storage of oil - general (1) Oil shall be stored in a container which is of sufficient strength and structural integrity to ensure that it is unlikely to burst or leak in its ordinary use. (2) The container must be situated within a secondary system which satisfies the following requirements - (a) subject to paragraph (5) it must have a capacity of not less than 110% of the container's storage capacity or if there is more than one container within the system of not less than 110% of the largest container's storage capacity or 25% of their aggregate storage capacity whichever is the greater.
