Wild West Coast

Here, along the Costa Vicentina, you can feast your eyes on the wild beauty of the pristine beaches pounded by the turbulent Atlantic and backed by majestic cliffs. The Southwest Alentejo Natural Park and Vicentine Coast extends from Vila Nova de Milfontes to Burgau, encompassing about 80 km of coastline. Leaving the bustle of the southern coast of the Algarve behind at Lagos we head northwards through unspoilt countryside and along the coast to our first stop – the beaches of Amado and Carrapateira which offer stunning views of the vast horizon and the unforgiving cliffs. Here you can fill your lungs with the purest air imaginable. We journey on to the ancient town of Aljezur which is marked by the brooding presence of the Moorish castle which sits atop a hill, affording spectacular views of the surrounding countryside.
