We meet Steve Rogers, a young American who dreams of joining the army to fight the Nazis. Discharged because of his frail physique, his determination does not go unnoticed. He is recruited to take part in a program to create a super-soldier using sérum. The experiment works. Steve becomes capable of lifting 500 kg, running the 100-meter dash in under 5 seconds and jumping 6 meters into the air. His perception, memory, endurance and resistance to disease and poisons are also exceptional. He left to fight the Nazis as Captain America, but disappeared in the Arctic Ocean at the end of the war. Years later, his body, preserved by sérum, was found by Avengers. He returns to service, but decides to serve an ideal rather than a government.
