Product Description
This charming wine is a ‘pét-nat’, short for ‘pétillant naturel’ – a method of making sparkling wine where fermentation continues in the bottle, creating natural bubbles without the usual added sugar or sulphur. Sourced from the organic vineyards of South Africa’s Western Cape, the Verdelho grapes come from the Voor-Paardeberg region, an area known for its granite soils and warm, dry climate. Reyneke Wines, known for their sustainable farming practices, partners with trusted organic growers for the Vinehugger project. The grapes are handpicked and pressed with minimal intervention, allowing the vibrant fruit flavours to shine. The wine is bottled before fermentation finishes, with the bubbles naturally forming as the fermentation continues inside the bottle. Aged on the lees for six months, the wine reveals fresh lemon, pear and subtle lees complexity. Enjoy it with fresh ceviche, light fish dishes or crisp salads.
