These iconic crosses are traditionally woven from straw or rushes on Imbolc or Imbolg, also known as Saint Brigid's Day. Imbolc is a traditional Gaelicfestival on the 1st of February, marking the beginning of spring and in Christianity it is feast day of Saint Brigid.
