Product Description
Enjoy it now, or cellar for a few years. No need to decant before serving. Pojer e Sandri is an enterprising winery, located among the Alpine foothills in the Trentino-Alto Adige region of Italy. It was founded by two friends, namely Mario Pojer and Fiorentino Sandri, who have been quietly setting trends in the Italian wine scene for almost 50 years. This Pinot Nero wine is a marriage of Italian Pinot Noir clones and French clones from Burgundy, grown in the fresh environment of Faedo, where Pojer and Sandri originally set up shop. The climate here is strongly influenced by the winds that blow from Lake Garda, which imparts an undeniable lightness and sense of excitement to its wines. The Pojer e Sandri Pinot Nero is a shimmering bright red in the glass, with a playful nose of red berries - ripe, round strawberries, and leaner, zestier hedgerow fruits. The grapes were aged for just a few months in oak barrels, making this a perfect choice for lovers of lighter-bodied wines, with subtle tannins. The palate is also driven along by fruits and a wiry acidity - blueberry, strawberry and wild tart raspberry can be found, supported by undertones of spice and violet. It is a versatile wine for food pairing, capable of enhancing anything from roast red meat to smoked salmon.
