When the infant/child key is inserted, the defibrillator automatically adjusts the shock strength and guidance to provide the correct instructions for pad placement and CPR that are appropriate for an infant or child. As the user doesn't have to spend time switching pads based on the patient's age, vital time is saved meaning therapy can be delivered more quickly, whilst also saving on the expense of purchasing separate pads for adults and children.
