Product Description
Drink it now or cellar for up to 10 years. No need to decant but best to open it an hour before service. Founded in 1989 in Morgon, Beaujolais, the Jean-Marc Burgaud estate extends over approximately 19 hectares of vineyards spread between the villages of Beaujolais, Régnié, and Morgon. Since 1992, the company has taken over the vineyards of the Cote du Py, considered the best in the area. The Gamay grapes are selected and harvested by hand from a vineyard of about 60 years old located in Morgon, at an altitude of about 280 meters, and planted on clay soils. After vinification and semi-carbonic maceration, the finished wine rests for 9 months in cement before bottling. The result is a soft and fruity wine that is a pure expression of its terroir. In the glass, the Morgon Grands Cras by Jean-Marc Burgaud reveals a bright and vibrant color with ruby tones. Its aromatic profile is fresh and broad with notes of cherry and red fruits, and some hints of black pepper. On the palate, it is deep and fleshy, concentrated and mineral with fine and well-integrated tannins. It has a medium body and a velvety texture. The finish is long and fruity. It is the ideal wine with herb-roasted chicken or duck in red fruit sauce.
