Product Description
Drink it now or cellar for up to 15 years. No need to decant, but best to open it half an hour before service. Founded in 1960 by Antonin Guyon and now managed by his children Dominique and Hombeline, Domaine Antonin Guyon is a family-run winery in the Côte d'Or, Burgundy. The estate extends across approximately 50 hectares of vineyards spread across the area's most prestigious appellations, including Gevrey-Chambertin, Chambolle-Musigny, Aloxe-Corton, Volnay, and Savigny-lès-Beaune. The cellars are located in Aloxe-Corton and Savigny-lès-Beaune and date back to the 18th century. The Chardonnay grapes come from the Les Charmes Dessus parcel, a 0.69-hectare premier cru plot characterized by white marl soils. Here, the vines, averaging 30 years old, enjoy eastern exposure. After manual harvesting, fermentation takes place in oak barrels at a low temperature, and the finished wine then ages for 15 months in oak barrels, 30% of which are new. Meursault Premier Cru Les Charmes-Dessus has a clear and brilliant golden color with some greenish highlights. The nose reveals a broad bouquet with notes of white flowers and honey, ripe yellow fruit, and hazelnut. On the palate, it is rich and generous, elegant and balanced with well-integrated acidity and a long, complex finish. It is quite versatile with food. It pairs well with white meats, grilled shellfish, or lobster. But for a special treat, try it with foie gras escalope.
