Today the company is managed by Chiara Soldati who carries on the family passion for this terroir and the Cortese grape. The vineyards of the estate, which extend over 50 hectares, are distributed in the Rovereto area, one of the most renowned areas for the production of Gavi. Here the vineyards, some over 60 years old, benefit from a mild and sunny climate, influenced by the breezes from the Ligurian Sea and mainly clayey soils, with the presence of sandy veins, ideal for the production of elegant, high-quality white wines. Gavi di Gavi Gold Edition is the most prestigious wine of the La Scolca winery, produced according to a rigorous philosophy of respect for nature and its cycles, and traditional viticulture methods. Cortese grapes are harvested from hillside vineyards located in the province of Gavi. The finished wine then ages on the lees for 6 months. Its color is straw yellow with some greenish hues. On the nose, it reveals an intense and persistent aromatic profile with notes of yellow fruit and floral nuances. In the mouth, it is fresh and lively, medium-bodied, and with a pleasant mineral note. The finish recalls almond notes. It is perfect as an aperitif or with fish and seafood dishes.
