Product Description
Drink it now or cellar for up to 15 years. No need to decant, but best to open it half an hour before service. Located in the Traisental region, southeast of Austria's Wachau, the Markus Huber winery is one of the most renowned and awarded in the area. After completing his studies, Markus took over the family business in 2000, developing the winery. Today, it boasts approximately 50 hectares of organically farmed vineyards, producing white wines of the highest quality and elegance. The grapes of Gruner Veltliner, Austria's most iconic grape variety, are selected and sourced from old vines located in the Reichersdorf area, in the heart of the Traisen Valley. Here, the soil and climate are ideal for this varietal, with sandy-loam soils, limestone subsoil, and a cool microclimate that guarantees freshness, character, and aging potential. In the glass, the wine reveals a straw yellow color with bright greenish highlights. Its aromatic profile is expressive and displays the varietal's typical characteristics, with herbaceous and spicy notes, hints of citrus zest, yellow pear, and exotic fruit. On the palate, it is crisp, taut, and deep. It has a juicy character, with a pronounced honeyed edge and vibrant acidity. It is lively and energetic, with a long, savory finish. Try it with Gruyère and asparagus tart or with Wiener schnitzel.
