Alhambra brewery was founded in Granada in 1925 and is named after the city’s magnificent Alhambra Palace, which also inspired the mosaiced labels. This Premium Lager, formerly known as Singular, is full of fruit and floral notes and with a medium intensity. It is made with 100% Spanish ingredients including barley malt from Navarre, Albacete and Seville and Granada’s water source is the Sierra mountains. Golden in colour, with a smooth, crisp texture and a little honeyed malt. Aromas of honey, nuts, apple and banana then lead to more citrus fruit evident on the palate, malt is balanced by the hops providing bitterness and spice. Alhambra Especial is a great foodie beer; its citrus character goes with most things from tapas and Pad Thai, fresh tiger prawns to a classic juicy burger.
