Lingua Franca Estate Pinot Noir 2023

Drink it now or cellar for up to 10 years. No need to decant, but best to open it half an hour before service. Lingua Franca is a young American winery located in the Willamette Valley in Oregon in the beautiful Eola-Amity Hills area. The company, founded in 2012 and now part of the Constellation group, produces high-quality wines from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, which in this American state manage to obtain great results. The Pinot Noir grapes are selected and hand-picked from some of the estate's best sites planted with the PN777 clone on Gelderman-Jory soils, and from two other blocks planted with the PN115 clone. Fermentation is spontaneous and takes place in medium-sized concrete and stainless steel tanks. The finished wine ages for 12 months in French barriques and 4 in tanks, before being released on the market. The Estate Pinot Noir is a fragrant and lively wine with a fresh aromatic profile and notes of raspberry and cherry, pomegranate, and rose petals. On the palate, it is juicy and soft. It has a medium body, velvety tannins, a strong mineral vein, and some savory notes. The finish is long and fruity. It makes an excellent pair with cheeseburgers, Teriyaki pork, veal chops, and pasta with ragù.
