Product Description

Boskoop Glory' is a heritage variety of black grape vine (Vitis vinifera) renowned for its hardiness and consistent yields, making it perfect for UK gardens. These vines are relatively easy to cultivate, offering early-ripening, disease-resistant qualities that lead to abundant harvests of deliciously sweet grapes, ideal for fresh consumption or culinary use in desserts. You can grow your delicious grapes in the UK. Grape vines are well-suited to growing over pergolas, providing an attractive display with their lush green foliage, which transforms into vibrant coral, scarlet, and purple hues in autumn. For optimal growth, select a sunny location with well-drained soil; a south-facing position against a wall is particularly beneficial. These twining stems require sturdy support, so prepare a framework of horizontal wires between two robust 1.8m posts, or fix them to a warm wall. Enrich the soil with well-rotted manure or garden compost before planting, spacing plants approximately 2m apart against the wire supports. After planting, trim the grapevine back to the height of the lowest support wire, pruning any side shoots to a single bud before securing the main stem to the wires. Water sparingly, only during dry spells, as excessive watering can compromise fruit quality. In spring, apply a mulch of well-rotted manure or garden compost around the base of the vines to help retain moisture throughout the summer. Prune during winter and train throughout the summer months. Refrain from allowing the vines to bear fruit until their third summer.Position: Full Sun. Height: Up to 1.8m. Spread: Up to 1.5m. Supplied in a 2.5 Litre Nursery Pot. The images shown are intended as a guide to the expected appearance of mature plants; results may vary depending on growing conditions.
