Founded in 1838 in the esteemed village of Aÿ, Deutz is one of Champagne's most distinguished houses, producing wines that showcase elegance and finesse. With a commitment to quality, they farm 111 hectares, much of which they own, ensuring exceptional control over their grape supply. Aged in the house's historic chalk-walled cellars, their champagnes develop remarkable complexity and depth over time. The 2018 vintage represents a masterpiece of blending—62% Pinot Noir from the grands crus of Aÿ, Verzenay and Bouzy, 34% Chardonnay from prestigious sites including Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, and 4% Pinot Meunier from Venteuil. This exceptional year, marked by ideal hot, dry conditions, produced concentrated wines with beautiful aromatic richness and remarkable aging potential.. TASTING NOTES. Deutz 2018 Brut Champagne presents a sparkling light gold appearance with fine, persistent bubbles. The nose reveals enticing pastry aromas of apricot and peach tart, interwoven with delicate white flowers and almond powder. On the palate, the attack is vibrant and straightforward, unfolding layers of yellow fruit, floral notes, and ripe almonds with remarkable finesse. The finish showcases saline minerality that leaves a lingering impression of freshness and elegance.. FOOD PAIRING. This vintage champagne pairs beautifully with refined dishes such as poached lobster, seared scallops, or creamy truffle risotto.
