Product Description

Drink it now or cellar for up to 10 years. No need to decant. Founded in 1849, the prestigious Champagne house Pol Roger is located in Epernay and is still managed today by the descendants of the Roger family. The company's vineyards extend over 92 hectares. Pol Roger is also famous for its underground cellars, the coldest in the region, and for being Sir Winston Churchill's favorite Champagne brand. Pol Roger's Champagne Brut Reserve is a blend of equal parts Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, and Chardonnay. The grapes are carefully selected from 30 crus. After the first fermentation, at a controlled temperature, and blending, the wine is bottled for the second fermentation. The finished wine then rests in the cellar on the lees for 4 years. This elegant Champagne has a brilliant golden color, enlivened by fine bubbles. Its aromatic profile is rich and intense with notes of exotic fruit such as mango and passion fruit, and then pear and yellow apple. There are also hints of honey, brioche, and freshly baked biscuits. On the palate, it is soft, rounded and creamy. It has a strong acidic backbone and a subtle saline streak. The finish is long and juicy. Served chilled it is an excellent aperitif but it also goes deliciously with all kinds of seafood.
