Product Description
Drink it now or cellar for up to 35 years. It is recommended to decant it for an hour. Sassetti Livio Pertimali is one of the historic family estates in the Montalcino appellation. Today, the estate extends across 16 hectares of vineyards spread across the northeast slope of the hill, in the Montosoli cru, one of the most renowned for the elegance and longevity of its wines. The Sangiovese grapes for Brunello Mulino are selected from a vineyard featuring soils with a high percentage of marine fossils. After harvesting and bunch selection, fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks. The finished wine then ages for at least three years in large Slavonian oak barrels before bottling. In the glass, the wine reveals a dark, intense color and a broad, complex aromatic profile with balsamic notes of menthol and eucalyptus, fruity aromas of blackberry, plum, and ripe cherry alternating with aromatic herbs and sweet spices, with hints of the ever-present violet in the background. On the palate, it is expressive, elegant, and powerful, with a soft, silky texture and firm yet well-integrated tannins. It has a full body and a long, floral, balsamic finish. It can age for several decades, but can also be enjoyed now with game and red meat dishes.
