Wire Works Coastal Smoke is a dual maturation of their lightly-peated spirit, distilled with two sets of cut points for added complexity, initially matured in first fill ex-bourbon barrels from Heaven Hill, and finished in Islay whisky barrels.. Mainland peat is used to malt the barley, and Islay peated whisky has seasoned the barrels used for final maturation, developing distinct layers of flavour in the final whisky..
