Retribution Distilling New Make Spirit, Soundings, 70cl

This New Make Spirit (destined to become whisky after 3+ years) is made from malted barley. The Barley is mashed, fermented and distilled in Frome, Somerset, using local grains which have been floor malted by Warminster Maltings.. Most of Retribution's new make is maturing in casks on its way to becoming whisky, but we are so happy with this new make that we decided to release it as an unaged spirit. What gives the new make such a lovely creaminess is our direct fired copper pot still.. Our tasting note: Fresh and bright on the nose with a grassy maltiness and ripe succulent orchard fruits. In the mouth, it's creamy, fruity with just the right amount of spicy pepper. Overall, comes across as sweetly ripe with a really well integrated and balanced profile.
