Amisfield Dry Riesling 2024

This vivacious dry New Zealand Riesling opens with uplifting notes of peach, grapefruit, and almond blossom while the palate displays a bright acidity, lively citrus notes and light body. There are also the distinctive steely or minerally hints which are so typical of the Riesling variety. The mouthwatering freshness make this an excellent partner for seafood, fish dishes, and spicy Asian dishes. It is also ideal to serve as an aperitif on a hot summer’s day before dinner. The wine begins life on the Amisfield estate which occupies a stunning setting below the Pisa mountain range in Central Otago’s Cromwell basin. The winery’s philosophy centres on minimal intervention wherever possible and working alongside nature to produce the very finest grapes. In the vineyards yields are carefully limited and the grapes are hand harvested and treated with the utmost respect throughout the growing season. This approach continues in the winery where the Riesling is vinified in stainless steel tanks to showcase the unique varietal character and the quality of the grapes. The resulting wine offers a complex flavour profile with excellent balance between freshness and ripe, concentrated fruit character with tropical hints.
