Product Description
ABOUT THE WINE. Founded in 1867 in Monforte d’Alba and renewed in 2013 under owner Miroslav Lekeš, Réva marries tradition with precision winemaking led by oenologist Gianluca Colombo. The estate farms organically (uncertified) and hand-harvests fruit from selected parcels in Monforte d’Alba, Novello, Serralunga d’Alba and Grinzane Cavour.. Vintage 2021 in Barolo was cool and late-ripening with low yields: tricky spring weather but a long, even end to the season delivered fragrant, finely etched Nebbiolo with vibrant acidity and silky tannins. Fermentation is spontaneous in stainless steel (30–35 days), followed by 24 months in oak and additional time in bottle before release.. TASTING NOTES. Translucent garnet. Perfumed rose and violet lead to red cherry, raspberry and blood orange, with hints of anise, clove, tobacco leaf and crushed mint. The palate is medium-bodied, precise and energetic, framed by fine, chalk-dusted tannins and a long, mineral finish. Poised and classical—very 2021 in its lift and definition.. FOOD PAIRING. Superb with tajarin al tartufo, osso buco, wild mushroom risotto, duck confit or aged cheeses like Taleggio and Parmigiano Reggiano.. FRIARWOOD SAYS. A beautifully elegant, red-fruited Barolo that shows Réva’s polished touch and the vintage’s freshness. Decant 60–90 minutes if drinking now; best 2026–2038+.
