Scriani Amarone della Valpolicella Classico 2022

Drink it now or cellar for up to 20 years. It is recommended to decant it for 1 or 2 hours. Located in Fumane, in the Valpolicella Classico area, the Scriani winery is an award-winning company, owned by the Cottini family, which produces excellent quality local wines. The estate extends over approximately 28 hectares of vineyards. The Amarone from the Scriani winery is a blend of the native Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella grapes, manually selected in the Mandolari, Tondin, Bosco, and La Costa vineyards. After the harvest, the grapes are left to naturally overripe in the fruit room for a maximum of 110 days. Fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts and the finished wine is aged for a total of over 30 months, first in barrique, then in large barrels, and finally in the bottle. The wine has an intense red color with ruby nuances. The aromatic profile is round and broad with notes of ripe red fruit, cherry and cassis, vanilla and sweet spices, and other hints of licorice. On the palate, it is soft and deep with excellent concentration of fruit. The tannins are firm but well-integrated, and the finish is long and persistent. Despite the high alcohol content, the wine is elegant and well-balanced. It is the ideal wine for game meat and mature cheeses, but it can also pair well with chocolate.
