Eisele Vineyard Syrah 2021

Drink it now or cellar for up to 20 years. It is recommended to decant it for half an hour. Founded in the 1970s, Eisele Vineyard is located in Napa Valley east of Calistoga on a site that has been growing grapes since the late 1800s. Farming their vineyards organically and biodynamically, the winery owns approximately 65 hectares with a majority of Cabernet Sauvignon vines. Produced in limited quantities, with pure Syrah grapes, this red from Eisele Vineyard is an elegant and very balanced red, thanks also to a beneficial climate characterized by a good alternation of sunny days and cool nights that guarantee freshness and concentration. Fermentation takes place with about a fifth of whole bunches and the finished wine rests in a mix of new and used French oak and amphora. In the glass, the wine reveals an intense color with red-purple tones and an expressive and seductive aromatic profile with notes of dark fruit and violets accompanied by a spicy undertone and hints of pepper and cumin. On the palate, it is a generous and rounded wine with an almost unctuous texture and a tasty fruit concentration. It has velvety tannins and a medium-full body. The finish, long and persistent, recalls notes of dried herbs and pepper. It is the ideal wine for red meat and roast lamb.
