Product Description
Drink it now or cellar for up to 10 years. No need to decant, but best to open it half an hour before service. Founded in 1994 by Dave Powell, Torbreck is an Australian winery located in the Barossa Valley. Among the most renowned in the area, the company is committed to producing Rhône-style wines, using vines aged between 40 and 160 years. The name Torbreck refers to a forest located in Scotland, not far from Inverness, where Dave worked as a logger. Since 2008, the estate has been owned by Peter Kight. Cuvée Juveniles is a blend of Grenache from old vines, with additions of Mataró, Counoise, Carignan, and Shiraz. After manual harvesting, the wine is fermented in stainless steel and then aged in steel before bottling to preserve its aromatic and fresh character. The result is a youthful and lively wine that showcases the fruity character of Grenache in its aromatic profile. On the nose, the wine reveals notes of raspberry, pomegranate, cherry, and kirsch, followed by light hints of mint and green tea. On the palate, it is medium-bodied. It is fresh and juicy with a lively, persistent acidity and well-integrated tannins. It is a food-friendly wine that pairs well with pork, spicy Asian dishes, pasta arrabbiata or amatriciana.
