Product Description
Drink it now or cellar for up to 10 years. It is recommended to decant it for half an hour. Golan Heights Winery is a highly prestigious Israeli winery founded in Katzrin in 1983 by a collective of eight kibbutzim and moshavim. Following the arrival of renowned Californian winemaker Victor Schoenfeld, the winery embarked on a pioneering approach, implementing vineyard mapping and winemaking techniques, and achieving great critical and commercial success. The Syrah grapes are sourced from the estate's plots located in the Golan Heights, at an altitude between 600 and 900 meters above sea level. Harvesting and vinification are carried out separately, depending on the individual blocks. After blending, the wine ages for approximately 1.5 years in small oak barrels. Like the estate's other wines, Yarden Syrah is produced only in the best vintages. In the glass, the wine reveals an intense ruby color. Its aromatic profile is broad, with fruity notes of plum and wild berries, followed by the typical spicy notes of Syrah and hints of chocolate. On the palate, it is full-bodied, round, and supple. It has excellent fruit concentration and smooth, well-integrated tannins. The finish is long and evokes a pleasant minerality, intertwined with spicy and smoky notes. It's the ideal wine for barbecue meat, grilled lamb or pork chops, and even beef brisket.
