Product Description
Drink it now or cellar for up to 10 years. No need to decant but best to open it half an hour before service. Elena Fucci is a respected winemaker from Southern Italy who founded her business in the early 2000s, using the family vineyards located on the slopes of the ancient Vulture volcano. Thanks to a modern approach and a deep respect for the terroir and local traditions, Elena Fucci has quickly achieved great popularity and success with her wines of great character. The Aglianico grapes are sourced from old vineyards located near the Titolo district, on the classic volcanic soils of Vulture. Here, the vines, over 70 years old, give very low yields, and grapes of extraordinary richness and concentration of aromas. Production is therefore limited (a few thousand bottles), and the wine's name, derived from the local dialect, means pomegranate, which in turn represents wealth and fortune, a tribute to the land and its people. In the glass, the Aglianico del Vulture SCEG reveals an intense and brilliant color with dark ruby tones. Its aromatic profile is broad and complex, with notes of blackcurrant, plum, and black cherry, wild berries, spices, and medicinal herbs. On the palate, it is well-structured and distinctive, with a well-integrated minerality and dense, ripe tannins. It is deep and elegant, with a pleasantly fresh finish. Try it with pappardelle with hare sauce or wild boar ragu.
