Kendall-Jackson Vintner's Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

Cellar for up to 20 years. Decant for up to 2 hours before serving. A deep ruby red in the glass, this Cabernet Sauvignon-dominated blend is bursting with scents of black plum, blackcurrant, fresh blueberry pie and vanilla. It is approachable from the beginning, but it can also be kept in the cellar for some time. The fruits were sourced from Sonoma and Mendocino County, in the northern half of California. The Kendall-Jacksons are one of America’s biggest and most renowned wine-making families. Their story began in the 1970s when the pioneering Jess Jackson bought his first vineyard and founded the family winery. These days it is run by his wife, Barbara Banke, who fills the role of chairman and proprietor. Their Bordeaux-inspired blend is a picturesque example of Californian red wine, bursting with ripe fruits and indomitable character. Along with 93% of Cabernet Sauvignon, Vintner’s Reserve also contains splashes of Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec, which add tannins, luscious mouthfeel and roundness respectively. It coats the tongue in chunky tannins and flavours of plum jam, cassis and baking spice. These ripe flavours are carried along by a juicy, cleansing acidity. It’s a perfect wine for pairing with steak, barbecued meats, or hearty roast vegetables.
