Product Description
Drink it now or cellar for up to 8 years. No need to decant. Founded in 1986 by Francis Delorme and his son, Domaine de la Mordorée is located in the Rhône Valley, and more precisely in Tavel, near the picturesque city of Avignon. The vineyards of the estate extend over 60 hectares and are divided into 38 parcels located in the AOC appellations of Tavel, Lirac, Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Côtes-du-Rhône and Condrieu. La Reine des Bois Tavel Rosé from Domaine de la Mordorée is a lively blend of Grenache, Clairette, Syrah, Cinsault, and Bourboulenc. The grapes are selected and hand-harvested from vines with an average age of 40 years planted in a 3-hectare vineyard located on the Plateau de Vallongue on pebble soil, and a sandy clay base. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature to retain aromatic freshness. The wine has an intense and brilliant pink color. The nose reveals a fragrant bouquet of floral and fruity notes. There are aromas of ripe cherry, raspberry, and pomegranate, and on the finish, some slight nuances of menthol. On the palate, it is fresh, fruity, lively, and refined with a nice mineral streak. It perfectly expresses all the elegance and richness of a Tavel wine. Perfect with Provençal recipes based on summer vegetables, like ratatouille, gratin tomatoes, and vegetable tarts. Served chilled, it also makes an excellent summer aperitif.
