Located in the municipality of Monticelli Brusati, Lombardy, Villa Franciacorta is a family-run winery spanning approximately 46 hectares of vineyards. Since 1978, the company has focused its production solely on vintage wines, made exclusively from grapes grown on the estate. Villa Franciacorta's Emozione Brut is made from Chardonnay grapes with additions of Pinot Noir and Pinot Blanc. It is a blend of 26 wines from different parcels of the estate's vineyards and vinified separately. The vines are rooted in predominantly clay and marl soil, rich in minerals and trace elements, which favors the production of wines with good minerality. After manual harvesting and gentle pressing, the first fermentation occurs spontaneously in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to preserve the wines' aromatic character. The finished wine then ages on the lees for 36 months. In the glass, the wine reveals a straw-yellow color enhanced by a fine and persistent perlage. Its aromatic profile is broad with lively notes of citrus, fresh fruit, and white flowers, with hints of bread crust. On the palate, it is soft and well-structured, lively and elegant, with refreshing acidity and a silky texture. The finish is long and delicately fruity. It makes an excellent aperitif, and pairs well with seafood and white fish.
