Product Description

Discover all the wines from Chateau Figeac. ABOUT THE WINE. Château Figeac stands apart in Saint-Émilion for its Cabernet-dominant blend and distinctive gravel terroir, bordering Pomerol. In 2008, a cool start to the growing season gave way to a dry, sunny September and October – ideal conditions for ripening late-harvested varieties like Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. The result at Figeac is a finely balanced, classically styled wine with freshness, structure and subtle complexity. A vintage that has aged gracefully and is drinking beautifully now.. TASTING NOTES. Aromas of redcurrant, cherry, dried rose, pencil shavings and forest floor. The palate is medium-bodied, with savoury red fruit, cedar, leather and a touch of mint, framed by silky tannins and bright acidity. The finish is elegant and persistent, showing mature nuance and poise.. FOOD PAIRING. Excellent with roast duck, beef stew with wild herbs, or mushroom and lentil Wellington. Serve with aged hard cheeses or a charcuterie board.. FRIARWOOD SAYS. The 2008 vintage at Figeac offers a beautifully mature expression of this iconic estate. Understated, graceful and complex – ideal for those who appreciate classical Bordeaux.
