Product Description
Drink it now or cellar for up to 15 years. No need to decant, but best to open it half an hour before service. Situated in Burgundy, with locations in Beaune and Aloxe-Corton, Maison Louis Latour boasts a long winemaking tradition. The family has been active in the sector since the 1600s, and the winery was founded in 1797. Since then, the company, which today owns approximately 50 hectares of vineyards and also purchases grapes from other local producers, has remained in the hands of the Latour family. The Chardonnay grapes are hand-picked from plots located in the Puligny-Montrachet appellation, nestled between the Meursault and Chassagne-Montrachet regions and renowned for the extraordinary quality of its white wines. Here, the vines, averaging 30 years old, are rooted in calcareous soil with sediment. After harvest, the vinification takes place in oak barrels, and the finished wine ages for 8-10 months in medium-toasted oak barrels (85% used). In the glass, Louis Latour Puligny-Montrachet reveals a bright, clear color with brilliant straw yellow hues. Its aromatic profile is expressive and youthful, with fragrant notes of quince and stone fruit, followed by light spicy notes on a mineral undertone. On the palate, it is elegant and balanced, with a delicious fruit concentration balanced by a fresh acidity. It has a well-defined minerality that lingers on the long finish. It pairs perfectly with sea bream, sea bass, and white meat. A must-try with veal escalopes.
