Product Description
Drink it now. No need to decant. Inaugurated in 2017 by his founder Panos Sarris, the Sarris winery produces natural wines from local varieties. The winery is located in Kefalonia, approximately 10 km from Argostoli, and close and close to the stunning Avithos beach. This rosé is obtained from the fascinating Mavrodaphne, a native red grape variety from Achaia (Patras / north-western Peloponnese) and the island of Kefalonia. Traditionally used for producing sweet red wines, with a long aging process, Mavrodaphne can also create interesting dry wines, both red and rosé. The vines grow in a small vineyard on the island's south side, just above Minies beach. The wine undergoes spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts and then spends six months in stainless steel tanks. Sarris rosé shows a beautiful salmon pink color in the glass. Notes of buttermilk and kefir surprise on the nose. There is no lack of fruity aromas including strawberries, blood oranges and cherries, accompanied by some herbaceous notes of mint. In the mouth, the wine is an explosion of fruity flavors. It is dry and it shows lively acidity and a lean body with low alcohol content. An exciting and balanced wine that will match perfectly turkey, guinea fowl, salmon and tuna. Enjoy it chilled, on a warm summer evening!
