Product Description

Drink it now or cellar for up to 20 years. It is recommended to decant it for half an hour. Chateau Talbot is one of the oldest and most renowned estates in the Medoc, 4th Grand Cru Classé. Since 1918, the estate has been in the hands of the Cordier family and is now managed by Nancy Bignon-Cordier and her husband Jean-Paul Bignon. Chateau Talbot is a Bordeaux blend with a majority of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, with small additions of Petit Verdot. The grapes are selected and harvested by hand from a vineyard of over 100 hectares and an average age of over 60 years, located in Saint-Julien on the banks of the Gironde estuary, on alluvial gravel soils typical of the Médoc. After vinification in wooden vats, the finished wine rests in barrels, half new and half used. In the glass, the wine reveals a dense color with dark red tones. Its aromatic profile is intense and broad, with floral (rose and lavender) and fruity (blackberry and cherry) notes, followed by tertiary aromas of wood, tobacco, coffee, and balsamic hints. On the palate, it is complex and tasty, round and balanced. It has smooth and ripe tannins and a silky texture. It has a well-balanced refreshing streak and a long, flavorful finish. Leave it in the cellar for a decade or more, or try it now with a rib eye steak or roast pork.
