Product Description

Discover all the wines from Chateau Figeac. ABOUT THE WINE. Now elevated to Premier Grand Cru Classé ‘A’, Château Figeac is a Right Bank icon defined by its Cabernet-led identity and three deep gravel outcrops on the Saint-Émilion plateau. The 2016 is a modern benchmark under Frédéric Faye, blending 38% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot, 26% Cabernet Franc. A long, even season delivered generous ripeness with striking energy and precision; the result is poised, ageworthy and unmistakably Figeac.. TASTING NOTES. Deep black-cherry hue. Complex aromas of blackcurrant and dark cherry with blue fruit, cedar, and discreet spice. On the palate, superb focus and tension: a vivid thread of refreshing acidity and a saline/mineral edge carries layered black fruit, graphite and gentle cacao. Polished, fine tannins frame a crisp, juicy, long finish of impressive concentration and elegance.. FOOD PAIRING. Perfect with beef Wellington, roast venison, or truffled wild-mushroom dishes. Decant 2 hours if drinking now to unfurl the aromatics.. FRIARWOOD SAYS. Figeac 2016 is cerebral and complete—Cabernet clarity, Franc perfume and Merlot plushness in seamless harmony. One of the wines of the vintage, built to age gracefully to 2045+.
