Stormhoek Pure Organic No Added Sulphur Chenin Blanc–Sauvignon Blanc 2023/24, Western Cape

Crafted by winemaker Helienne Swanepoel, this vibrant wine is made at the gateway to the Olifants River Valley just a few hours north of Cape Town. The area is known for its excellent fruit and veg, as well as viticulture – a prime example of the wonderful agricultural diversity of the Western Cape. Chenin Blanc originates in France but has been adopted by South Africa as its own, and this example – blended with a small percentage of Sauvignon Blanc – shows why it’s so celebrated. Floral and honeyed aromas and flavours of quince and apple meet a refreshing zippy acidity. An ideal match for seafood and rich cheeses.
