Always particularly popular at Christmas, but ideal for round the year cooking, the word 'gammon' can be traced back to the old French word 'jambon' for ham. This particular roasting joint is unsmoked and is sometimes referred to as "Green Gammon", which means the meat is cured in brine but remains uncooked. Our Specially Selected Pork is from Quality Meat Scotland Certified assured farms. These are beautifully marbled resulting in a much more flavoursome and tender meat. Any leftovers from this joint can also be used to make a fantastic stock for any ham soup. Our master butchers prepare your order fresh on the day of despatch - nothing is "off the shelf”.
