Product Description

Drink it now or cellar for up to 10 years. It is recommended to decant it for half an hour. Morande is one of Chile's leading wineries. Founded in 1996, it has played a key role in the growth of the Casablanca Valley winemaking industry and produces innovative, high-quality wines from various wine regions across the country, including the Maule and Maipo Valleys. The House of Morande red is a Bordeaux-style blend of Cabernet Sauvignon with the addition of other red varietals, such as Cabernet Franc. The grapes come from the estate's finest plots in San Bernardo, facing north-south, located at the foot of Cerro Chena, in the heart of the Maipo Valley. Here, the vines enjoy a temperate Mediterranean climate and are deeply rooted in the third alluvial terrace of the Maipo River, composed of gravel and clay with a silty structure. After manual harvesting, a three-day maceration at low temperatures, and fermentation, the finished wine ages for 12 months in French oak (50% new), then in large barrels for another 6 months, and finally for 12 months in bottle. In the glass, the wine reveals an intense garnet-red color and a broad, ripe aromatic profile with notes of raspberry, red berries, and black cherry, against a spicy and delicately toasted background. On the palate, it is full-bodied, velvety, balanced, and concentrated. It has fine, well-integrated tannins and a long, smooth, and persistent finish. Try it with beef and mushroom stew.
