Offset bends are commonly used to form what is known as a swan neck. This is the term given for two offset bends used together with a small piece of pipe in between that allows the downpipe to drop from the fascia and return to the wall below the soffit.Never use sealant or solvent weld when making a swan neck as you may need to disassemble the fitting for cleaning at some point.
