This type of coupling has a ring seal push fit socket on each end to connect to a plain ended pipes or to the spigot (plain end) of another fitting. It can also be used as a slip coupling - simply knock out the central lugs with a flat bladed screwdriver and you will be able to slide the coupling back and forth along the pipe. This type of application is ideal when working in confined spaces. The cast iron effect finish on this range has been developed over many years using a specially formulated paint process that cleverly mimics the metal products of yesteryear. It really does look like cast iron but with the maintenance free benefits of modern PVC. The ring seals joints are quick and easy to install, with oversized sockets and wide fixing lugs just like their original iron counterparts.
