The Knipex 95 11 StepCut Cable Shears are compact cable cutters designed for electricians and electrical contractors working with copper and aluminium cables. At just 160mm in length, these lightweight shears deliver professional cutting performance without the bulk of larger tools. The innovative StepCut design features graduated cutting edges that slice through wires sequentially rather than simultaneously, reducing cutting effort by up to 40% compared to standard cable shears of equivalent length. This stepped cutting action ensures clean cuts without crushing the cable, preserving conductor integrity for reliable connections. The ergonomic handle design provides optimal cutting feel even when working with larger cable diameters, whilst the bolted joint construction ensures precise, effortless operation that remains durable throughout the tool's working life. A pinch guard is fitted as standard for enhanced safety during use. These shears cut multi-core stranded copper and aluminium cables up to 15mm diameter (50mm²) and solid copper and aluminium cables up to 5 x 4mm². The cutting edges are additionally induction-hardened to approximately 56 HRC for extended service life. Please note these shears are not suitable for cutting steel wire or hard drawn copper conductors.
