Market Tour and Cooking Class with a Coffee Ceremony at a Home in Addis Ababa

Meet your host Daniel at the Asko bus station and together visit the Asco/Keta market, a daily local market known for its spices, cereals and vegetables, located about a 5-min drive/20-min walk from his home. Here, you will be introduced to local ingredients used in your cooking class. Join Daniel and his wife Tigist for your private, hands-on cooking experience in their home kitchen in Addis Ababa. During your 1.5 hour class, Tigist will show you how to make a traditional Ethiopian dish like shiro or tibs as well as how to pour and cook the perfect injera, a traditional fermented bread people in Ethiopia use as an edible plate with other dishes served on top of it. You will also learn to roast coffee beans and enjoy a traditional coffee ceremony after your meal. On days that Daniel is traveling, his partner Yadassa will host you along with Daniel's wife at their home.
