Domaine Carneros Le Reve Blanc de Blancs 2017

Located in the Californian Napa Valley wine region, Domaine Carneros was founded by the famous Champagne house Taittinger with the aim of producing traditional method sparkling wines. The estate, which extends over 142 hectares spread over five vineyards in the Carneros AVA, has also been producing some still wines since 1992. The vines are planted with a combination of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Le Reve is the most representative wine of Domaine Carneros, a prestigious Blanc de Blancs, inspired by the Comtes de Champagne of Champagne Taittinger, made from six clones of Chardonnay and representative of the Carneros terroir. The wine, produced with the Traditional Method or Champenoise, then rests sur lie for a minimum of five years before being released on the market. This luxurious Blanc de Blancs shows a brilliant golden yellow color with a fine and persistent perlage. Its aromatic profile is intense with fragrant notes of white flowers, lemon, pear, and pineapple. On the palate, it is creamy and round, elegant and well-balanced. The finish is persistent and recalls notes of creme brulée. It is the ideal wine for a dinner based on fish and shellfish, but it also goes well with white meats served with a creamy sauce.
