18L Bokashi Composter Kit with 2kg Bran - Indoor Food Waste Recycling This complete 18L Bokashi Composter Kit includes a bin, 2 kg of Bokashi bran, drainage tap, tray and scoop, so you can start fermenting kitchen waste straight away. Designed for indoor use, this system lets you compost cooked and uncooked food including fruit, vegetables, meat and dairy without unpleasant odours thanks to the anaerobic fermentation process. What Is Bokashi Composting? Bokashi composting is a fermentation process that uses bran activated with beneficial microorganisms to break down organic waste in an airtight environment. It allows a wider range of food scraps to be processed more quickly and with minimal smell compared with traditional composting. How To Use Add cooked or uncooked food waste to the bucket. Sprinkle Bokashi bran over each layer of waste. Press down firmly to remove air pockets. Keep the lid sealed at all times. Drain liquid every few days using the tap. When full, leave sealed for 2 to 3 weeks to finish fermentation. Installation and Setup Fit the tap securely into the base of the bucket. Insert the inner drainage tray. Add a base layer of Bokashi bran and begin composting.
