Product Description

A garden classic, Hydrangeas are celebrated for their ease of cultivation and resistance to common garden ailments, thriving in diverse soil and garden settings, making them ideal for borders and shrubberies. 'Vanille Fraise' is a distinctive variety, the result of extensive breeding trials. This variety boasts satin white blooms formed into eye-catching cones, which then transition to a delightful strawberry hue, maturing into a rich russet red. The striking green foliage provides a beautiful contrast to the upright red stems, creating a visual spectacle that enhances any garden or patio space. Flowering from July through October, it extends the garden's colourful season. Plant in its permanent location when conditions allow, ensuring regular watering until established. Hydrangeas flourish in sunny or partially shaded spots, provided they are sheltered from harsh, drying winds. Best performance is achieved in any fertile, moist, non-alkaline soil. Prune after flowering helps maintain the plant's shape; cutting back the oldest stems to a few buds from the ground encourages larger blooms. Please note: All parts of this hydrangea are toxic and may cause stomach upset if ingested. The foliage may also irritate sensitive skin. Position: Sun or semi-shade. Height: Reaching up to 2m (6ft) if unpruned. Spread: Extending to 2m (6ft) if unpruned. Supplied in an 8cm pot. Images are intended as a guide to the expected appearance of mature plants; growing conditions can influence results. Images may illustrate supply, but variations occur due to seasonal changes (e.g., deciduous plants shed leaves during colder months).
