Product Description

Adjustable modular TYPE 556 floor lamp - high-quality light source in classic Bauhaus style An absolutely timeless design, perfect workmanship and outstanding flexibility make the modular TYPE 556 floor lamp a welcome addition to almost any environment. The design is simple and focused on functionality: the round base supports a frame made of two slender steel arms that hold an aluminium head in the shape of a truncated cone with a slightly slanted light emission. Thanks to three joints made of colour-contrasting metal, the direction of the light emission can be perfectly adjusted to the respective requirements. The modular TYPE 556 is equipped with a rotary switch on the cap of the lampshade for operation, and the power connection is made via a plug cable in a black textile sheath. The original concept for this luminaire series was designed by Curt Fischer (1890 - 1956) in the 1930s. The engineer is regarded as the inventor of "steerable light" - an idea that is particularly evident in this floor lamp. The company midgard, founded by Fischer, is still responsible for manufacturing the lights today and produces them, including all components, at locations in Germany.
