All other features / characteristics are the same, and they can even be mixed - so if you re changing over from one oil to the other there s no need to drain the system and start again, they ll blend, saving waste.Scottoil Traditional (Standard) Blue is an oil specifically blended for use with Scottoiler chain lube systems in normal average temperatures. This oil was the first from Scottoil, and 500ml is able to provide approx. 10k miles of riding. This Oil should be used in average daily temperatures of 0-30°C (32°F-86°F), and is suitable for use in most Europe and North American countries.Scottoil High Temperature Red is specifically blended for use with Scottoiler chain lube systems, designed for warmer climates. 500ml of this Oil is able to provide approx. 10k miles of riding. This Oil should be used in average daily temperatures of 20-40°C (68°F-104°F), and is suitable for use in hotter climates such as Asia, Australia and southern Europe.In some cases, Scottoiler would recommend using Red High-Temperature if the reservoir is located near a hot spot on the engine, as this will warm the oil in the reservoir to the operating range more suited to the red oil.
