Alocasia 'Black Velvet'

A jewel variety of Alocasia which stays small while still producing iconic elephant ear leaves. Cultivar of Alocasia reginula which is native to Borneo.. Unusually dark leaves with contrasting white veining. The only variety of Alocasia to have velvet textured leaves. Space saver because of its compact growth habit.. Growth pattern: Tuberous & compact. Water: Little and often. Keep moist but not waterlogged.. Ideal Position: North or east facing. Light: Medium to bright, indirect light.. Humidity disclaimer: This plant will grow well outside of a terrarium or cabinet. However, all tropical plants thrive with higher humidity levels. To achieve this we suggest grouping plants together, or putting them in a bathroom or kitchen which gets regular use.
