Lavenders dislike wet ground, especially during the winter months; improve heavy soil by incorporating coarse grit or sharp sand before planting. When growing English Lavender in large patio containers, use a well-drained, soil-based compost such as a John Innes No. 3.Post-planting, prune to encourage a bushy habit. Water regularly throughout the summer until fully established, after which they become reasonably drought-tolerant. Immediately after flowering, prune back to within 2cm (1") of the previous year’s growth to maintain a compact, well-shaped plant.Supplied as 5 x 9cm pots. Position in full sun.
