Product Description

Ah, Punk's Not Dead, but my enthusiasm might be after listening to this album by Exploited. This Scottish punk band has been around since the 80s, and while their energy and passion for rebellion is clear, their music feels a bit dated and uninspired. From the opening track, "Punks Not Dead," to the closing chords of "Army Life," Exploited delivers a loud and aggressive sound that is sure to get your blood pumping. However, the lack of musical depth and innovation leaves much to be desired. Lead singer Wattie Buchan's gravelly vocals certainly command attention, but the repetitive lyrics about fighting the system and sticking it to the man start to feel a bit tired after a while. It's like they're still stuck in the punk rock playbook from decades ago. The instrumentation on Punk's Not Dead is solid, with fast-paced drumming and raucous guitar riffs carrying the songs along at a frenetic pace. But without any real surprises or standout moments, the album starts to blend together into one long, angry scream. Overall, Exploited's Punk's Not Dead is a decent homage to the punk rock of yesteryear, but it ultimately falls short of capturing the raw power and rebellious spirit that made the genre so iconic. Maybe it's time for these Scottish punks to shake things up and breathe new life into their sound. Or maybe punk really is dead.
